WIMBLEDON: Djokovic in cruise control to semi-final

Novak Djokovic looked fresh as a daisy as he continued his serene progress to the semi-final.

The Serb was a class apart as he dismantled Belgian David Goffin 6-4, 6-0, 6-2 in just one hour and 56 minutes.

Champion Djokovic had spent eight hours 18 minutes on court in comparison with Goffin’s one minute over 10 hours before this quarter-final meeting and clearly has plenty in the tank as The Championships head towards a climax.

As usual, the statistics which surround the No.1 seed serve to highlight what is illustrated on the court.

Djokovic has reached his ninth Wimbledon semi-final and his 36th Grand Slam in total. This was also his 70th Wimbledon match win.

Goffin never came close to suggesting he would be the first Belgian man to reach a Grand Slam semi-final since Xavier Malisse at Wimbledon in 2002.

He has never got beyond the last eight at a Grand Slam and last year was knocked out in the first round so this will have been quite an experience for him.
